Man Up for Father's Day

As we are nearing the end of May, I have started to think about Father's Day. At the beginning of my oil journey, my husband thought it was "cute" that I was getting into essential oils. Then he transitioned into liking what I had on hand for different situations but still was not using them much himself. That is, until I co-hosted a man oil class. At first he and the other husbands came to support us. I secretly assumed that I would use the recipes for the rest of the family somehow. What actually happened was he began using them on his own and when I tried to borrow a little, he called me out about using his oily stuff. It was a pleasant surprise. Sometimes, dudes just have to learn about oils by using them on their own. Here are two of our favorite recipes from that class. Maybe your special guy will like them, too?
Gear Head Hand Scrub
This is the one that gets used often in my house, even when oil based paint got on his hands.
1 cup white sugar
1/4 cups Sweet Almond Oil or Grapeseed Oil
20 drops Young Living Lemon Essential Oil
8oz Mason jar
Combine all ingredients in the mason jar and mix well. Pro tip: add an extra tablespoon of your carrier oil to the top to keep it from drying out. Use as needed to scrub grimy hands then rinse well.

Beard Oil
This one doubles as a nice face serum if there is no beard.
7ml Jojoba Oil
3ml Grapeseed oil
Combine all ingredients in a 1 ounce dropper bottle. Apply to beard 1-2 times daily and brush through. If using as a face serum, omit the peppermint and add Young Living Frankincense,
Pro tip: Young Living Northern Lights Black Spruce smells amazing in this mix
If you don't want to bother making your own recipes you can also order a couple options straight from Young Living for the man in your life like Shutran Beard Oil or Shutran Shave Cream. Shutran products smell amazing - Ladies, you've been warned!
